Ryan McGinness

I was just reading the latest issue of ArtNews and there's an article on Ryan McGinness. He's a designer/artist interested in the space in between. He uses a lot of invented logos in his work.

In the article he says that he just stopped worrying if he was making art and decided to make what he wanted. good advice i think.

i love the library

this job has fantastic perks. i went to the music and media library and looked at the Six Feet Under boxset as well as many others.

The Wicker Man was a small box made out of balsa wood, little nails, and had the graphic either burned on or some kind of varnish/paint.

Albert Ayler Holy Ghost has this detailed plastic box outside, a bound book inside, with a pressed flower, old photo, and other memorabilia. Designed by

World of An Archie

Yee-Haw Industries Letterpress

i like the look of letterpress objects. you can see the indent of the metal which gives it an authenticity.

There is a local letterpress company in Atlanta and several elsewhere. most of them do wedding invitations and such, but this one, YeeHaw Industries, does a lot of design work for companies like Cartoon Network, and posters for rock bands. Plus I love their name.

check out thier site:
